Welcome to the Non-Ferrous Alliance Website
The Non-Ferrous Alliance (NFA) represents a large cross-section of the non-ferrous metals industry in the UK with a membership which includes the trade associations representing the aluminium, copper, nickel, lead, zinc, magnesium, titanium, cobalt, tungsten and the metals recycling industry as well as several, UK based, global metals, precious metals and mineral companies.
Non-ferrous metals are an essential and integeral part of modern life and are used across all industry sectors. Some thirty or so non-ferrous metals are in commercial use in the UK and the activities of the of the companies involved in these metals include primary production from imported ores, semi-manufacturing of products such as sheet, strip, wire, extrusions, tubes, forgings and castings. The finishing of such products by processes such as anodising and coating and finally the recycling of these metals after use.
The NFA also work closely with educational establishments to ensure future generations are able to maintain and improve the technologies used in these vital industries. An example of this work can be seen when you visit the Magic of Metal section of this website.
